Elizabeth Ann Shepelak Kvartek
Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Shepelak Kvartek, 74, of Canonsburg, passed away Monday, January 9, 2023, in Jefferson Hospital. She was born June 29, 1948, in Charleroi, a daughter of Andrew and Martha Todic Shepelak.
Betty Ann was Byzantine by faith. She was a 1966 graduate of Charleroi High School and a 1968 graduate of Washington Hospital School of Nursing. She had worked for many years at Washington Hospital, where she was an IV nurse.
Betty Ann is survived by her brother, Andrew Milan Shepelak of Mapleview; aunt, Mildred Psak of Chambersburg; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kathryn and Thomas Yurchick of Ellsworth; a nephew, Thomas Yurchik of Ellsworth; and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Kvartek, October 8, 2022.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, January 15, in the Leonard M. Pavlic Funeral Homes, Inc., 235 Fallowfield Avenue, Charleroi. Funeral services will take place Monday, January 16 in St. Mary Assumption Byzantine Church, Monessen, with the Rev. Stephen Wahal officiating. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Township. A Panachida service will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home, and the Charleroi Knights of Columbus will have a prayer service later that day, at 4:30 p.m., also in the funeral home.
