Patricia Mae Delfine

Patricia Mae Delfine, 86, of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 17, 2023, in Canonsburg Hospital, following an extended illness. She was born August 7, 1936, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late John and Julia Sedlitsky Sopiak.

Pat was a lifelong member of St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church in Canonsburg helping in the kitchen for making nut rolls and pierogies and social functions. She had been a Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) teacher at church and enjoyed bingo.

Patty was a graduate of Canonsburg High School and the Canonsburg Hospital School of Nursing. Prior to her retirement she had been employed for many years with the Canon-McMillan School District as a secretary in the Guidance Office. Patty served on the Canonsburg Library Board with pride.

On July 6, 1957, she married William R. Delfine, who passed away January 31, 1999.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her beloved children, daughters, Julia Elizabeth Krek of Canonsburg and Mary Louise Pascrelli (fiance Mark Kohlhepp) of Cecil; and her four sons, William S. Delfine (Marie) of Blythe, Calif., Wesley R. Delfine of Canonsburg, Michael P. Delfine of Elkhart, Ind., and Robert T. Delfine (Darnella) of Van Buren Township, Mich.; her sister-in-law, Betty Sopiak of Canonsburg; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was the last of her immediate family.

Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are her brother, John Sopiak; and two sisters, Anna Louise Clendaniel and Mary Jane Guidas.

Friends and family are welcome from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, January 21, and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, January 22, in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra LFD, owner / supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg (724-745-8120), where departing prayers will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Monday, January 23. A Liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. in St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church, followed by interment in St. Michael Cemetery, Canonsburg.
