Betty A. Taylor, 78, of Carmichaels, died Tuesday, January 17, 2023, of cancer, in the Donnell House of Concordia Hospice of Washington.

She was born October 9, 1944, in Waynesburg, a daughter of the late Arthur and Ruth Simpson Bates.

Betty was a graduate of Jefferson-Morgan High School.

She had worked and retired from the former Mayview State Hospital.

On August 7, 1963, she married Thomas W. Taylor, who died December 30, 1990.

Surviving are two sons, George (Jackie) Taylor of Waynesburg, and Troy (Susan) Taylor of Jefferson; five grandchildren, Travis (Natalie) Taylor, Jessica Taylor, Kellie Taylor, Kory Taylor and Kevin (Jackie) Sartin; a great-granddaughter, Brynlee Beam; two great-grandsons, Kody and Kole Sartin; and a sister, Sue Cree of Carmichaels.

Deceased is a brother-in-law, Richard Cree.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 20, in the Behm Funeral Home, 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, PA 15344, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 21. Interment will follow in Smith Cemetery, Waynesburg.
