Gwendolyn Strothers Gordon
Gwendolyn “Punkin” Strothers Gordon, 82, of Washington, sadly left us Tuesday, January 17, 2023.
Gwen was a graduate of Washington High School and spent many years of her life working for RCA and at the Washington County Courthouse. She often enjoyed organizing trips to regional gaming destinations and spending time with her family and friends.
Gwen was preceded in death by her loving mother, Mary Jane “Day” (Louis) Phillips; sister, Ellen “Reekie” (Clyde) Jones; and former husband, James “Beanie” Gordon.
She is survived by nephews and niece, Clyde Jones, Rodney Jones, and Dana Jones; great-nieces and nephew, Colby (Jason) Russell, Katara Brown, Trevor (Carly) Jones, Pamela Brown; along with four great-great-nieces whom she loved and whom all loved her dearly.
A memorial gathering for Gwen will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Monday, January 23, in the John Wesley United Methodist Church, 35 Central Avenue, Washington.
