Edward G Marin

Edward G Marin, 89, of Canonsburg, died Friday, January 27, 2023.

He was born July 19, 1933, in Coverdale, a son of John and Susan Drost Marin.

Mr. Marin was a devout Catholic. He loved praying the Rosary, and was a member of St. Oscar Romaro Parish, and regularly attended St. Patrick Church.

Prior to his retirement, he worked at the former McGraw Edison in Canonsburg.

He was a member of the Slovak Club, the Polish National Union, 116; and the White Eagles in Canonsburg.

On September 12, 1956, he married his loving wife, Leona Morrison Marin, who died October 21, 2005.

Surviving are his sons, Edward X. Marin of Canonsburg, Gregory F. (Brenda) Marin, of Biloxi, Miss.; daughters, Debra (Dennis) Abbott of Washington, Mary T. (Scott) Barnes of Williamsburg, Va.; brothers, Eugene and Robert (Sarah) Marin, both of Muse; sister, Diane (Mitchell) Sutherland of Eldridge, Iowa; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Robert Marin; brothers, Frank, John, Anthony, David, Richard, Thomas, and Bernard Marin; sisters, Mildred Marin, Reta “Barbara” Woodruff, and Katherine Marin.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, January 30, in Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, LTD, 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, 724-746-1000.

Departing prayers will be recited in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 31, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
