David Benjamin Borkowski

David Benjamin Borkowski, 70, of Washington, passed away Saturday, July 1, 2023, in West Penn Hospital, with his loving family by his side.

He was born July 8, 1952, in Washington, a son of the late Benjamin and Eva Sendro Borkowski.

He was a graduate of Washington High School Class of 1970. After high school he attended a trade school in Pittsburgh, studying mechanical and electrical trades.

David was a life-long member of St. Hilary Church in Washington.

He was a member of the Pulaski Club, Racoon Valley Sportsman’s Club, and the NHRA.

He enjoyed riding his Harley, going to drag races, driving his Shelby Mustang and bird watching. He also enjoyed restoring classic car parts and selling them at swap meets.

Hayward Baker Company employed him as an equipment supervisor for more than 30 years.

On May 11, 1974, he married Sandra K. Miller, with whom he recently celebrated 49 years of marriage.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two daughters and a son, Moriha (David) Blom of Canonsburg, Erika (Vit Taweepoljaroen) Borkowski of Alexandria, Va., and Benjamin (Vanessa) Borkowski of Washington. Also surviving are his sister, Priscilla Ware of Washington; and five grandchildren, Noah and Evan Blom, Brooke, Hailey and Shelby Borkowski.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 6, in Dale D. DeAngelo Funeral Home, 1290 Jefferson Avenue, Washington. Plans for a Funeral Mass will be announced in Wednesday’s edition of the Observer Reporter.
