Mark Lee Husak

Mark Lee Husak, 66, of Vestaburg, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 5, 2023, with his family by his side, following a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born June 11, 1957, in Waynesburg, a son of the late John Husak and Mary Husak Mizerak (John Mizerak).

Mark was a 1975 graduate of Bethlehem-Center High School and had been employed by Washington County 911 as a dispatcher before retiring in 2015. Prior to 911, he was employed by Volkswagen, Columbia Management as a maintenance man and also drove a bus for Impiccini Bus Lines.

He dedicated his life to serving others by being a part of the East Bethlehem Volunteer Fire Dept. as chief engineer, secretary and president, a foster parent, and assisting with youth league sports. He was a first responder EMT, EMA coordinator, an electrician by trade, a school board member, assisted Vestaburg Community Association with Christmas activities, a member of the Red Knights, an avid water enthusiast, and enjoyed golfing and playing for adult softball leagues.

On September 13, 1986, he married his “best friend”, Rebecca Mowery Husak, who survives. They shared 36 years of marriage.

He was the loving father of Autumn Jordan, Laura Husak, Tiffany (Squirt) Stull and Logan Husak; grandfather of Heather, Marin, Andrew Jordan and Aaron David Stull; sister-in-law, Barbara Husak; brothers, John and Michael Mizerak; sisters, Monica Mizerak, Mary (Bruce) Aglio; adored nieces, nephew, family, friends and colleagues.

He was a brother of the late David C. Husak.

Becky and the family would like to express deep appreciation to the staff of Hillman Cancer Center, Jackie Workman of Amedysis Hospice, Dr. Brent Angott, UPMC Presby, East Bethlehem Firemen, Washington 911 Dispatchers, and all firemen.

To Logan, his best buddy (Son), who has been there by his side since he has been sick taking care of and keeping an extra eye on Daddy and his dog, Sparky, who never left his side.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 10, in the Greenlee’s Fredericktown Funeral Home, Ltd., 42 Bank Street at Crawford Road, Fredericktown, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, with the Rev. Frank C. Menhart officiating. Interment will follow in Buckingham Cemetery. The East Bethlehem Volunteer Fire Department and the Red Knights Chapter PA #37 will conduct a service at 7 p.m. Monday in the funeral kome.
