Barbara Grace Cox Richmond
Barbara Grace Cox Richmond, 80, of Washington, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2023, in the Donnell House.
She was born March 29, 1943, in Washington, a daughter of the late John K. and Gertrude Zediker Cox.
Barbara was an active member of The Church of the Covenant.
She was a 1961 graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School. In 1964, she achieved her childhood dream of becoming a nurse when she graduated from St. Johns School of Nursing in Pittsburgh.
Barbara worked as a registered nurse and retired from the offices of E. Ronald Salveti, M.D.
On December 12, 1964, in Amity, she married her high school sweetheart, Orville “Butch” Richmond, who survives.
Also surviving are four children: Donna M. (Randy) Evans of Washington, James H. (Rachele) Richmond of Washington, Susan L. (Jeffrey) Dittmer of Claysville and Diane K. Johnson of Lake Wiley, S.C.; a brother, John R. Cox of Meadowlands; two sisters, Bonnie G. Carpenter and Linda G. Cox, both of Washington; along with 13 grandchildren, Randall, Barbara Grace and James Evans, Matthew, Jacob and Ryan Richmond, Alyson, Jenna, Joshua and Rachel Dittmer, and Hailey, Parker and Grant Johnson; and six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday, July 14, in Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, PA 15301. All other services will be private.
