Reverend Gary T. Mohler
Reverend Gary T. Mohler, 82 of Bridgeville, formerly Canonsburg passed away peacefully Saturday, July 15, 2023, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born May 16, 1942, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Harry and Gwen Thomas Mohler. Gary was a graduate of Canon-McMillan High School class of 1960, Wabash College graduating in 1964. He was a decorated Navel Veteran serving in Viet Nam. Pastor Mohler then attended the Devine School of the University of Chicago and was a graduate summa cum laude of the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary class of 1975. He was a longtime member of the Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church and had previously served as Pastor for 5 years at Bethel Presbyterian Church in Knightstown, Indiana, was employed with Greene County ARC and various other social services and government agencies. After retirement Reverend Mohler officiated mostly at funerals and wedding, the last one being that of his son and daughter-in- law.
He loved technology, was a lifelong learner with a great sense of humor, who especially enjoyed British humor and television comedies.
On December 2, 1972, he married Diana J. Andrews who passed away March 27, 2018, after 45 years of marriage.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved children, Drew (Helen) Mohler of Bridgeville, M. Blake Mohler of Forest Hills, his “other son” John Saffel of Orlando, Fla.; and his sister, Sharon (John) Butzer of Ocala, Fla,
