Michael Augustus Paul
Michael Augustus Paul, lovingly known as Tug, Big Mike and Junior, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2023.
Michael was born November 27, 1992, a son of Michael Paul and Nicole Novak in Washington.
Michael grew up in Ohio, where he participated in youth rodeo, football and loved to hunt, most recently in his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with friends and family, going to the gym, good food and good music, and was a patriot through and through.
Michael lived large and invincible and always on his own terms. His loved ones describe him as witty, a brother, a best friend, having a contagious smile and a heart bigger than the sky.
Michael was a natural born equipment operator and truck driver and worked as such for many different companies.
In early 2020, Michael bought Cherry Tree service and formed High Class Land Management LLC. In 2022, he became a partner with Coulson Tree Service of Laverne, Ala., where he planned his winter work. He was so very proud of his businesses, priding himself on his hard work, always going above and beyond for every customer.
Michael is survived by his father, Michael (Kelly) Paul; mother, Nicole (Jay Speeney) Novak; sister, Kylee (Bill) Craig; maternal grandmother, Joyce Novak; paternal grandparents, Grayson and Carol Pau; nieces and nephews, Waylon, Alivia and Charlee; step- sisters, Sierra (Rob), and Kylee; stepbrother, Jeremy; stepniece and nephew, Layken and Karter; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Michael was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Carl “Sonny” Novak; uncle, Carl “Reaper” Novak; stepsister, Trisha; and the absolute love of his life, Milena.
Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 30, in Dale D. DeAngelo Funeral Home, 1290 Jefferson Avenue, Washington, where funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Monday, July 31, with the Rev. Sandra Conti officiating. Interment will follow in Lone Pine Cemetery.
