Jean G. McGuire
Jean G. McGuire, 94, passed away peacefully and with a heart full of love, Tuesday, July 25, 2023, in Country Meadows, Bridgeville.
She was born January 26, 1929, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Walter and Gertrude Johnson Moeckel.
Jean was the beloved wife of the late Patrick D. McGuire; and sister of the late Rith Helwig.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her four devoted children: Patricia (Robert) Hannay of Buffalo, N.Y., Dianne Knopp of Cecil, Linda (Jeffrey) McCartney of North Strabane Township and James McGuire of West Mifflin; 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Jean enjoyed golfing, bike riding and trying new recipes. She resided in Sarasota, Florida with her husband from 1979 until 1993, returning to the Pittsburgh area upon Pat’s passing in 1993 to be with her family. Jean lived in Bethel Park until moving to Country Meadows in Bridgeville.
She was devoted to her family, a sweet and loving mother and grandmother. Her beautiful smile and laugh will never be forgotten.
Jean’s family would like to thank all the staff and residents of Country Meadows of Bridgeville for the loving care and kindness toward their mother. A special thank you to the staff of Bridges Hospice.

Friends and family were welcome from 10 a.m. until noon, Friday, July 28, 2023, in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., Joseph P. Salandra LFD, owner / supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where departing prayers were recited at 12:10 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 12:30 p.m. in Saint Oscar Romero Parish, Saint Patrick Church, 317 West Pike Street, Canonsburg. Interment followed in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township.
