Lois M. Kriston Chornak, 92, of Finleyville who passed away peacefully Sunday, July 23, 2023 in her home.

Born August 27, 1930, in Webster, a daughter of the late Michael and Rozili Radakovich Kriston.

Lois graduated in 1948 from Monongahela High School and was a member of St. John XXIII Parish (St. Francis of Assisi Church) in Finleyville. Lois was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary #613 and the New Eagle AARP #4095 and was a proud member of the Ladies Auxiliary Military order of the Purple Heart of the USA Inc.

After high school Lois worked in sales at the former Joseph Horne Co. in Pittsburgh, until opening with her late husband Chornaks Tire Service from their home in Finleyville for over 40 years.

Lois is survived by a son, John M. Chornak III of Finleyville; of East Liverpool, OH; seven grandchildren, John IV (Michelle) Chornak, Anna Marie Chornak, Jordan M. (Christy) Chornak, Jenna M. Chornak, James R. (Courtney) Lyle, William M. Lyle (Dana Katz), Patrick J. Lyle (Jeralyn Baker), 10 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Stephen (Linda) Kriston of TX, Lee (Andrea) Kriston of Forward Twp. and Gary Kriston of Baldwin Twp. along with many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband John Chornak, Jr who died November 22, 2014; her daughter, Rosanne Lyle, a son-in-law James W. Lyle; three brothers Richard, Oliver and Michael Kriston; three sisters, Dolores Yates, Zita Kriston, and Elizabeth Gurofsky.

At the families request, Lois had a private family visitation and her internment was held in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville. The Marshall Marra Funeral Home, 216 Chess Street, Monongahela, 724-258-6767 were in charge of her arrangements.
