Margaret A. Sheets Barney

Margaret A. “Peg” Sheets Barney, 80, formerly of Houston and Eighty Four, died Friday, July 28, 2023, in Premier Washington Health Care, Washington.

She was born November 21, 1942, in Latrobe, the daughter of the late Earl and Susan E. Bensko Sheets.

She was a graduate of Monongahela High School and went on to work for the G.C. Murphy Company in the Washington Mall and then as a clerk at Washingtonian Printing.

She was a member of Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church, where she volunteered in the church kitchen during vacation Bible school.

Peg loved camping and trips to the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. She also enjoyed genealogy research, but most of all, she loved attending the musical concerts in which her grandsons played.

Peg was previously married to the late Edward Fabin and the late David Barney.

Surviving are a daughter, Lori (Brian) Fulton of Canonsburg and two grandsons, Ryan and Aaron Fulton.

Deceased is a brother, Earl Louis Sheets, who died in infancy.

The family has chosen no visitation. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2023, in the Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church, 112 W. Pike Street, Canonsburg, with Revered Dan Merry officiating.
