Samuel “Scott” Gilchrist, 56, of Waynesburg, died Saturday, June 3, 2023, in the Donnell House, Washington. Scott was born May 7, 1967, in Columbus, Ohio, a son of Patrick Gilchrist, and the late Mary Linda Goodman.

Scott worked and resided with his GreeneArc family at 241 Franklin Street since January 26, 1980. He was an integral part of GreeneArc’s training and employment opportunities including recycling, document destruction and various kitchen duties.

Scott was an avid movie watcher, having amassed thousands of DVDs, but the two things he enjoyed most were eating and sleeping.

Surviving, in addition to his father, are his sister, Margaret Thornton of Valparaiso, Fla.

Friends will be received from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, June 9, in the Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Inc., 197 N. Maiden Street, Waynesburg, PA 15370, Shane M. Ayers, director. Interment is private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to The Donnell House, 10 Leet Street, Washington, PA 15301.
