Bessie Jean Raciborski
Bessie Jean “Jeannie” Raciborski, 90, of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 8, 2023, in Country Meadows, Bridgeville, with her devoted daughter, Lori by her side. She was born December 28, 1932, in Vestaburg, a daughter of the late Henry and Katheryn Johnson O’Neill.
Jeannie was a graduate of East Bethlehem High School Class of 1950 and graduated from the Canonsburg General Hospital School of Nursing in 1957.
A registered nurse, prior to her retirement Jeannie had been employed at Mayview State Hospital and earlier at Canonsburg General Hospital.
She was a faithful member of St. Oscar Romero Parish St. Patrick Church in Canonsburg, where she lived most of her life.
On June 21, 1958, she married Raymond “Whitey” Raciborski, who passed away March 10, 2004, after 45 years of marriage.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Lori Cromp and husband Michael of Cecil Township, and Karen Petrola of Scenery Hill; four grandchildren, Sydney and Jenna Cromp, Michael and Zachary Petrola; great- grandchildren; her sister, Loretta Clancy of Northfield, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, is her daughter, Diana Florian.
Friends and family are welcome from 10 a.m. until 12 noon, the time of Catholic Blessing Services, Monday, June 12, in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., Joseph P. Salandra LFD, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg (724-745-8120). Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township.
