James S. Gencel Jr.
James S. Gencel Jr., 77, of Jefferson, died Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Washington Hospital, Washington.
He was born May 17, 1946, in Glen Burnie, Md., a son of the late James S. and Lillian Kruszewski Gencel Sr.
Jim was an independent long haul truck driver.
He served in the United States Army.
Jim enjoyed fishing and was a former member of the Mt. Morris Sportsman’s Club.
On August 10, 1992, he married Deborah “Debbie” Anne Johnston Gencel, who died, May 8, 2012.
Surviving are three daughters, Jammie Gencel of Jefferson, Kathlyn (John McMahon) Gencel of Smithfield, and Barbara (Shaun Brown) Gencel of Morgantown, W.Va.; six grandchildren: Emma, Leah, Jameson, Lillian, Aubrey and Margaret; a brother, Paul Gencel of Preston, Md.; three sisters, Mary Ann Jones of Denton, Md., Cathy Prouse of Federalsburg, Md. and Theresa McMahan of Federalsburg, Md.
Deceased is a sister, Bernadine Larrimore.
