Zelma L. Pollack

Zelma Lillian Pollack, 93, of Burgettstown, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, June 13, 2023, after a brief illness.
She was born December 31, 1929, in her home in Cross Creek Township, a daughter of the late John Stephen and Rose Kovac Pollack.
Zelma was a 1949 graduate of Avella High School. She was a dental assistant for Dr. Hoop for 15 years and was later employed at Woodville State Hospital as a psychiatric aide for over 25 years, retiring in 1988.
Zelma lived on the family farm her entire life and enjoyed taking care of the animals. She was kindhearted and loved flowers and spending time with her family.
She was a member of Avella Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her brother, Bob Pollack; nieces, Jackie (Jack) Miller, Janet (Jerry) McClain, and Janelle Yamber; her great-niece, Joelle (Ronnie) Cooper; great-nephews, John Mondin and Joe Yamber; and great-great-nieces, Abigail and Kylee Cooper; and several cousins.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Frances; and nephew, Joseph “Smokey” Yamber.
Friends and family will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday, June 16, in the Jerome A. Stefkovich Funeral Home Inc. There will be no funeral service. A private burial will be held immediately following visitations in Grandview Cemetery, Burgettstown.
