Brian John Minnis

Brian John Minnis, 54, of Strabane died unexpectedly, Monday, February 27, 2023, in the Canonsburg Hospital of an apparent heart attack.

He was born September 26, 1968, in Washington, a son of the late John “Jack” and Cathy Simon Minnis.

He attended school in Long Island, N.Y. before moving to the Washington area.

Mr. Minnis had worked for Washington Ford, Fox Ford, Rusty’s Towing Service and Dolan’s Lawn Service. He has been employed as a Diesel Mechanic for Republic Service in Carnegie, for 15 years.

Most important in his life was his family. He was also, willing to fix anything that needed fixing.

On May 19, 1999, he married Tiffany Burgard, who survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Kimberleigh Minnis and her fiance, Steven Wade, of Canonsburg and Emma Minnis and her son, Dustin Phillips, of Washington; a sister-in-law, Anitra Dahl (Christopher) of Mt. Washington, Ky.; a brother-in-law, Mark Burgard (Rachel Lewis), of Washington; and a stepbrother-in-law, Michael Heider (Brandi), of Washington; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 3, 2023. Interment will be private.
