Francis “Skip” Hope, 87, of Venetia, passed away Wednesday March 15, 2023 in St. Clair Hospital.

Born May 24, 1935, in West Mifflin, a son of the late Charles and Juanita Huber Hope. Skip graduated in 1953 from the former St. Peters Catholic School.

After working a few jobs he began working at Waterway Plumbing working his way up to manager before leaving and beginning to work at the family business, the South Park Inn for more than 25 years until their closing in the spring of 1989. A member of St. John XXIII Parish (St. Francis of Assisi Church) in Finleyville, he enjoyed bowling, golfing, making his own clubs and he loved to read.

Skip is survived by two daughters and a son -in-law, Beth (Douglas) Cushey of Monongahela and Heather Hope of Venetia; two granddaughters Paige Cushey and Morgan (Aaron) Cerminara and a brother-in -law James Vollmer of West Alexander. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dora (Stiver) Hope who died December 9, 1997; a son, Brett Hope who died in 1987; infant daughter Wendy Ann Hope, a brother and sister-in-law, Monti Joe (Shirley) Hope and two sisters and a brother-in- law Diane (Bud) Wiseman and Shirley Vollmer.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Marshall Marra Funeral Home, 216 Chess Street, Monongahela, 724-258-6767. Blessing prayers will begin in the funeral home Saturday March 18 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 9:30 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 3609 Washington Ave., Finleyville. Internment will be held at a later date in Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Canonsburg.
