Jennie Marie Ferralli

Jennie Marie Ferralli, 105, of Washington, died on Sunday, March 19, 2023, in her home.

A daughter of Giovanni and Maria Chiarelli Ferralli, she was born on January 18, 1918, in Washington.

Miss Ferralli was a graduate of Trinity High School, went to college at the Washington Seminary, and was graduated from Chatham University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and social studies. Upon graduation from Chatham University, she pursued graduate study at Pennsylvania State University, the University of Hawaii and the University of Pittsburgh, from where she earned a Master’s degree in secondary education.

Miss Ferralli was a teacher at Trinity High School for 39 years, retiring in 1981. She had served as a department chairperson, and was advisor to the classes of 1944, 1947, 1953, 1956, 1960 and 1964. Prior to her employment at Trinity High School, she taught at the Washington Seminary School, where she also served as field secretary.

Jennie was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees, the Washington County Retired Teachers Association and the American Association of University Women.

She enjoyed flowers, traveling and was dedicated to her family.

Surviving are many loving and devoted nieces and nephews, among whom are John Ferralli and wife, Judith Ann, and Robert Ferralli, all of Washington; and Amanda S. McConnell and husband, Reverend Dr. Stephen B. McConnell, of Sarasota, Fla.; and a sister-in-law, Olga B. Ferralli, of Washington.

Deceased, in addition to her parents, are four sisters, Rose F. Rugiero, Angeline F. Costello, Helen C. Bellotti and Vera Jean F. Piacenza; and three brothers, Albert, John Joseph and Domenic Ferralli.

Friends and family are welcome from 2 to 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2023, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 24, 2023, in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. All those planning to attend the Mass are asked to please meet at the church.

Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Immaculate Conception Church Youth Fund, 119 West Chestnut St., Washington, PA 15301.
