Vincent Testa
Vincent “Jimmy” Testa, 98, of Canonsburg, died Friday, March 24, 2023.
He was born December 7, 1924, in Slickville, a son of the late Domenic and Julia Carozza Testa, and grew up and lived in Canonsburg.
Mr. Testa was a member of St. Oscar Romaro Parish, and attended St. Patrick Church.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army, during the Korean War, as part of the military band.Prior to his retirement, he worked at Western Center.
He was a lifelong musician and music instructor. He enjoyed vegetable gardening, making wine, and mostly spending time with his family whom he loved so much.
Surviving are his daughter, June (Paul) Basil, of Pittsburgh, with whom he made his home for the past five years; grandchildren, Stacy Basil, and Carla (David Tcholakian) Basil; great- grandchildren, James and Ava Marie; several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of over 60 years, Mary Ann Panzino Testa, who died October 6, 2014; sisters, Antoinette Dapra, and Philomena Herman; and his brother, John Testa.
Friends will be received 10 to 1 p.m., Monday, at Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, LTD, 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, 724-746-1000.
