Lisa Marie Pittman, 58 of Avella, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 24, 2023.

She was born on September 17, 1964 in Washington, daughter of the late Ralph R. and Carole A. Beatty Pittman.

Lisa lived most of her life in Independence and was a 1982 graduate of Avella High School. She attended West Liberty University and then became a paralegal. More recently, she had worked as a Title Abstractor for several companies in the area. For the past year she was a bartender and waitress at Breezy Heights Tavern.

She was a member of Polar Star Mutual Benefit Society and the former SNPJ Lodge 292 both of Avella.

Lisa was an outgoing person and avid reader. She was a loving mother to many dogs and cats over the years. Lisa was well known and liked by the community she called home. A recent fundraising event in her name was well attended and a huge success. The outpouring of love and support meant the world to her and she was truly grateful for it.

Surviving Lisa are her loving sister, Trudi (Rodney) Rush; a brother Ralph “Pitt” Pittman Jr. both of Avella; three nephews, Kyle, Cameron and Joshua Rush; and several cousins and friends.

Friends and family will be received from 1 to 3 and 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday March 28, in the Jerome A. Stefkovich Funeral Home Inc., 18 Campbell Street, Avella, where services additional visitations will be held from 9 to 10 a.m., the time of the service on Wednesday, March 29.

Burial will be in Independence Cemetery, Avella.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the National Kidney Foundation or Angel Ridge Animal Rescue.
