Hazel Darlene Miller
Hazel Darlene Miller, 78, of Washington, died March 27, 2023, in her home, with her loving husband and family by her side.
She was born July 10, 1945, in Washington, the daughter of the late John Samuel and Florence Evelyn Black McAdams.
She graduated from Trinity High School in 1963. Shortly thereafter, she worked for Pittsburgh Paints, Inc., as their Bookkeeper. She later worked for G. C. Murphy’s and Goodwill Industries.
On March 17, 1967, she was united in marriage with Harry Robert Miller, who survives. They were happily married for 56 years.
Also surviving are her daughter, Christina Darlene (W. Shawn Coachman) Miller of Canonsburg; two grandsons, Erik Cameron Miller of Washington and Troy Matthew Dunlop of Canonsburg; a great-granddaughter, Harper Rei Dunlop; cousin, sister-in-law and confidante, Judy Hull Miller; sister-in-law, Ellice (Ed) McAdams; several nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are a grandson, Cameron Christopher Cain; and two brothers, Ralph Edward McAdams and John Loren McAdams, both of Washington.
She was a Christian and attended Mount Hermon Baptist Church in Amity, also visiting other churches in the area from time to time.
She loved the beauty of nature and the outdoors, often taking that Sunday “after church” car ride to yet another cool spot for a picnic, to hike some trails, to go bicycle riding or to take a few spins on the lake via paddleboat. She could spend hours bird watching or gazing at a waterfall or flower garden. She loved to sightsee and traveled to many beautiful places with her husband. One of her favorite places to vacation, her “home away from home” were Chincoteague and Assateague Islands.
Her greatest joy was in spending time with her family whom she loved dearly.
