Michael Stephen Povich
Michael Stephen Povich, 61, of Claysville, formerly of Houston, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, March 26, 2023, in his home. He was born January 26, 1962, in Washington, a son of Olga Petronka Povich of Houston and the late John Povich.
It is with great sadness that the family shares the passing of its son, brother and uncle. Michael was a graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School and was raised in the Orthodox faith. He volunteered for many years at the All-Saints Greek Orthodox Church Food Festival.
Michael was a self-employed and very skillful painter of 30 years and did side jobs working in security.
Michael loved his farm and was content raising little chicks to chickens, and caring for his rabbits, goats, pigs, ducks and dogs over the years, having a unique name for each of them. He enjoyed going to the 84 Auction and getting good deals, bringing home treasure that he shared with his family.
He was a prankster who loved to make people laugh and he had a very big heart. Michael made friends everywhere he went and mostly enjoyed spending time with his family dearly.
Left behind to cherish his memory, in addition to his beloved mother, are his three siblings, Tanya Povich Pinegar, Taisia (Jack) Thomason and John (Terri) Povich; nieces and nephews, Bradley (Whitney) Lane, Julie (Matt) Cruz, Joshua Povich, Jonathan Povich, Jaclyn (Ryan) Kana and Wesley Thomason.
Deceased, in addition to his father, is nephew, Jeffrey Romano.
Friends and family are welcome from 10 a.m. until noon, the time of services, Saturday, April 1, in SALANDRA FUNERAL and CREMATION SERVICES, INC., Joseph P. Salandra LFD, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
