Virginia Danyo
Virginia “Ginger” Danyo, 83, of Muse-Bishop Road, McDonald, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, March 28, 2023, in her home with her family by her side.
She was born February 8, 1940, in Muse, a daughter of the late Charles and Hazel Belle Hizer Camerson.
Ginger lived her life in the Muse, Cecil Township area and was a member of Saint John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Canonsburg. She was a graduate of Cecil High School and for many years helped her brother in his beauty salon.
Ginger was a member of the Marine Corps League, Mon Valley Leathernecks and the Washington County Detachment.
She enjoyed gardening, especially yellow flowers, the slot machines at the casino and her dog, Milo.
On June 16, 1962, she married William Danyo, who passed away March 21, 2012.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, William Joseph Danyo (Christine Fernandez) of Mt. Lebanon and Michael C. (Christy) Danyo at home; her beloved grandchildren, Courtnee and Skylar Danyo, Sierra Taylor and Shane Danyo; her great-grandchildren, Landon Galloway and Audrey O’Patchen; and several nieces and nephews.
Ginger was the last of her immediate family.
Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are five brothers, Jack, Jay, Bill, Charles Edward and James Joseph Camerson; and five sisters, Lillian Camerson, Winette “Pappy” Andy, Hazie Pust, Eileen Faye Jackson and Eula Mae McElhany.
Friends and family are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 2, 2023, in SALANDRA FUNERAL and CREMATION SERVICES, INC., Joseph P. Salandra, LFD, owner / supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 3, 2023, with Father John Joseph Kotalik officiating. Interment at 12:30 p.m. will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
