George E. Kelley

George E. Kelley, 82, of Greensboro, passed away, unexpectedly, Wednesday, May 3, 2023, in his home. He was born July 24, 1940, in Monongahela Township, Greene County, a son of the late Donald M. And Velma M. Kostura Kelley.

George was a 1959 graduate of Mapletown High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era.

He had been employed at the Duquesne Light Warwick Mine and was a member of St. Matthias Parish and the United Mine Workers of America.

George resided most of his life in Greene County, where he enjoyed playing his banjo with several local bands.

Surviving are a brother, John C. Kelley (Ruby) of Northampton; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are two brothers, Stephen B. D. Joseph Kelley and Theodore D. Kelley; and a sister, Debbie M. Kelley.

There will be no public viewing and interment will be private under the direction of Yoskovich Funeral Home, Martin J. Yoskovich, funeral director, Carmichaels.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Tunnels to Towers Foundation or to the Wounded Warrior Project.
