Robert Paul Pavlek Sr.
Robert Paul Pavlek Sr., 77, of Sevierville, Tenn., formerly of Canonsburg and Slippery Rock, passed away unexpectedly Friday, May 4, 2023, in his home. He was born March 14, 1946, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Peter Paul and Mary Chopak Pavlek.
Bob was raised in Canonsburg and graduated from Canon-McMillan High School. Being an avid member of the Boy Scouts of America in his youth, he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank attainable in Scouting.
Prior to his retirement he had been employed as an architectural draftsman for SNL Lavalin.
Robert loved Nascar, the Smokey Mountains, gardening and animals, especially his beloved dog, JJ.
Deceased is his wife, Mary Shelia Burke Pavlek, whom he married May 14, 1966.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved children, Robert (Shelley) Pavlek Jr. of Dublin, Linda (Donn) Spare of Sevierville, Mary Catherine (Kristal) Pavlek of West Sunbury, and William (Diane) Pavlek of Stevens; his grandchildren, Megan, Peter and Ian Spare, Aiden, Alexander and Robert Pavlek III; three great-grandchildren, Aria Spare, Zadie Buhlmann and Isaac Spare; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Pavlek was the last of his immediate family. Deceased, in addition to his wife and parents, are his daughter, Roberta Pavlek; and his brother, John D. Pavlek.
Family and friends are welcome from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 11, in SALANDRA FUNERAL and CREMATION SERVICES, INC., Joseph P. Salandra LFD, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where a Celebration of Life service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 12. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
