Dawn M. Zimmer, 58, of Donora, passed away Friday, May 5, 2023, in Jefferson Hospital in Jefferson Hills.

She was born October 19, 1964, in Toms River, N.J., a daughter of the late Norman Hess and the late Olga Hess.

Dawn loved her family, spending quality time with friends, traveling, and creating lasting memories. She will be missed by many.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Cookie Hummel; and her grandson, little Jeffrey DeSchon.

Surviving to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Terry Zimmer; her children, Candice Jones, Nicole Jones (Kevin Moore), and Matthew (Beth) Jones; stepdaughters, Dannielle (Terry) Pendland, Trish (Josh) Zimmerman, Tanya (Tom) Heiser, and Toni (Jeff) DeSchon; grandchildren, Liam, Gaige, Colton, Sophie, Arianna, Clara, Tanner, Caden, Sage, Connor, Everett, Ethan and Scarlett; siblings, Christine Hummel, Eda (Peachy) Abbate, Wayne Hess, and Dale (Jill) Zimmer; also countless nieces, nephews and cousins.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Anthony L. Massafra Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc., 40 Second Street Extension, Donora, PA 15033 (724) 379-6900, where the family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, May 13. Private funeral services were held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, Dawn’s family suggests memorial contributions, in her name, be made to a local animal rescue of one’s choice.
