Almeda Jane “Speedie” Griffiths McCully, 89, of Southminster Place, Washington, passed away Friday, March 17, 2023.

She was born April 19, 1933, in Brownsville, the only child of the late Almeda F. and David Griffiths.

She was a graduate of Brownsville High School, Class of 1951, and the Washington Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1954. She was a registered nurse at Washington Hospital in the 1950s-1960s and later at Twinbrook Healthcare, Erie.

On July 30, 1955, she married the love of her life, Keith F. McCully, who survives after more than 67 years of marriage.

Also left behind to cherish her memory are a son, Kenneth M. (Carla) McCully; daughters, Kathleen M. (Pete) Cameron, and Karen M. (Jim) Geiger; grandchildren, Carissa (Shane) Lawson, Gretchen, Corey, Patrick and Devin (Miranda) Cameron, Benjamin and Derek Geiger; and great-grandchildren, Conner and Caitlin Lawson, Grayson and Ivylyn Nickel, Corbin, Callie, Kinlee, Blake and Andi Cameron.

Friends and family will be received from 10 a.m. until noon, the hour of a funeral service, Saturday, May 20, in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at E. Katherine Avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, owner / supervisor, S. Timothy Warco II, director, Holly Renay Warco, director, Park N. Crosier, director. . The Rev. Dr. L. Stephen Smith, Jr. will officiate. Interment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park, Briar Hill.
