Bonnie Celestine

Bonnie Celestine, 78, of Brownsville, formerly of Tallmansville, W.Va., passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2023, in her home.
She was born March 10, 1945, in Richeyville, a daughter of the late Frank “Toot” and Marilyn “Ann” Murray Zirkle.
Bonnie was a 1963 graduate of Beth Center High School and was employed as a pharmacy technician at Perry Drug in Perryopolis. She also spent some time volunteering for the Richeyville Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
Family was the core of Bonnie’s existence and the life she and her husband had built together in the hills of West Virginia was what she cherished most.
Quad-riding, fishing, hunting, and gardening were her favorite pastimes, but overcooking for her entire family and any neighbor on the mountain was her personal mission.
On June 12, 1998, she married Thomas Celestine, who survives.
Also surviving are two children, Kim Sabatini (Rick) and Mark Paci (Dana), both of Brownsville; two stepchildren, Lisa Shirkey (Danny) of Harpers Ferry, W.Va., and Tom Celestine Jr. (Renee) of Prince Frederick, Md.; a brother, Jim Zirkle (Christy) of Ravenna, Ohio; 13 grandchildren, Catina Kohl (Murray), Angela Mayhue (Scott), Matt Sabatini (Nicole), Angelica and Emily Sabatini, Zachary, Samuel, Jacob and Sarah Paci, Daniel Shirkey (Jennifer), Taylor Small (Justin), Tray and Tony Celestine; four great-grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two brothers, Robert and Perry Zirkle; and a son, Tony Paci.
Bonnie would want people to celebrate her life by eating fresh homemade bread while dancing in the kitchen to any loud bluegrass music and singing John Denver’s “Take Me Home Country Roads”.
Friends will be received from 1 to 6 p.m., the time of a memorial service, Friday, May 19, in Greenlee’s Fredericktown Funeral Home, Ltd., 42 Bank Street, Fredericktown. Interment will be private.
A guest book, where personal condolences may be expressed to the Celestine family, is available at www.GreenleeFuneralHome.com.
