Catherine L. Markley
Catherine L. “Kitty” Markley, 82, of Washington, died Sunday, May 28, 2023, in her home.
She was born February 16, 1941, in Washington, a daughter of the late Walter and Catherine Anderson Allen.
Kitty worked as a House Mother at Washington Hospital, School of Nursing. She enjoyed crafting, cooking, attending church and spending time with her family.
Kitty was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, Saint James Parish.
On September 1, 1960, she married William C. Markley III, who survives. Also surviving are four children, Kimberly A. DiGiandomenico, William C. (Karen) Markley IV, Traci Mathis and Bradly (fiance Kathy) Markley; siblings, Pennie (Ronnie) Foil, Patricia (Harold) Mituzas, Linda (Harry) Ganter, Timothy Allen and Jon (Mira) Allen; a brother-in-law, James (Jann) Markley; eight grandchildren: Danielle Jacobs, Jessica Jacobs, Keith (Ashley) Jacobs, Phillip Hull, Karrie Porter, William C. (Jessica) Markley V, Olivia Markley and Emma Markley; and 14 great-grandchildren: Myairah, Troi, Isaiah, Kehlani, Londyn, Nina, Gia, Dylan, Dashawn Jr., Billy, Oliver, Monty, Karlee and Dylan; 11 nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and nephews also survive.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2023, in the Warco-Falvo Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson at E. Katherine Avenue, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, Owner / Supervisor, S. Timothy Warco II, Director, Holly Renay Warco, Director, Park N. Crosier, Director.
A prayer service will be held at 9 a.m. on Friday, June 2, 2023, in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, Saint James Parish, 119 West Chestnut Street, Washington, with the Reverend David Perry as celebrant. Burial will be private in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville.
