Mary Ellen Egbert
Mary Ellen Egbert, 75, of Canonsburg, died Saturday, October 28, 2023.
She was born July 27, 1948, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Raymond and Genevieve Prusak Egbert.
Mary retired in 2004 as a social studies teacher for Canon-McMillan. Her love for education will always be remembered by her students.
She enjoyed polka music, trips to the casino and traveling. She was a devout Catholic and loved her church, Holy Rosary, in Muse.
Surviving are her aunt, Agnes Bevec, of Canonsburg; her uncle, George Bunevich, of Canonsburg; and several cousins.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, November 2, in Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, LTD, 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, 724-746-1000, where departing prayers will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, November 3, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, Muse. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made to a charity of one’s choice.
The family wishes to recognize and express appreciation to all of Mary Ellen’s neighbors and friends who tended to her many needs over the years.
