Dona Lynn Miller
Dona Lynn Miller, 79, of Littlestown, passed away Monday, September 11, 2023, in her home. Born January 31, 1944, in Canonsburg Hospital, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Margaret Wilson Rettinger.
She was the beloved wife of Dale Lee Miller, who survives.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are her children, Robert Miller and Valerie of Chantilly, Va., Amy VonSchirach and Marc of Westminster, Md., Christine Chmielewski of Littlestown, and Brian Miller of Charlotte, N.C.; her grandchildren, from oldest to youngest, Hannah, Leo, Faith, Ben, Kirsten and Heath, who all deeply loved her; her sisters, Mary Ann Barnes of Greensboro, N.C., Peggy DallaPiazza of McDonald, Kathy McCombs of Florida and Gayle Sweetie of Florida.
Dona was predeceased by her brothers, David, Chuck and Billy Rettinger.
Dona was a 1961 graduate of Fort Cherry High School in McDonald. She was a majorette and on June 15, 1964, she was crowned the queen of the McDonald Diamond Jubilee.
Dona was a member of the Westminster American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She was a devoted homemaker and very active enjoying family time, dancing, bingo, shopping, cleaning, baking, the sunshine and being in or near the pool!
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, October 28, in McDonald Presbyterian Church, 119 Station Street, McDonald, PA 15057, with the Rev. Justin Amsler officiating. There will be a dinner reception following the service at 4:30 p.m.
A celebration of life will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday, November 4, in American Legion Post 31, 2 Sycamore Street, Westminster, MD 21157.
