James Allen Nickeson
James Allen Nickeson, 77, of Eighty Four, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2023, surrounded by those he loved.
He was born on September 8, 1946, to Alonzo and Mary Alice Lusk Nickeson. Jim was the eldest of six, of which he was preceded in death by Mary Lou (Robert) Victor.
His surviving siblings include: Ruth Ann Calvey, John Nickeson, Karen (George) Williams and Kenneth (Brenda) Nickeson.
In 1965, Jim enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served until 1968 during the Vietnam War. Following his tour, he returned to Southwestern Pennsylvania and met the love of his life, Linda Mowery.
In 1969, the two married and spent the next 54 years together. Together, they raised three daughters, Amanda Nickeson of Vero Beach, Florida, Alissa Borso (Mike) of Eighty Four and Jennifer Nickeson (Brian Hartmann), of Buffalo, New York.
Jim’s grandchildren: Riley Nickeson, Regan and Reese Borso meant the world to him. Three years ago, Jim and Linda added Maggie May to their family and Jim and Maggie were inseparable.
Family and friends will be received to remember Jim at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at Pigeon Creek Presbyterian Church, with a service at 4 p.m. and a repast immediately following.
