Janet R. Pierce
Janet R. Pierce, 85, of Deep Valley, died Thursday, September 28, 2023, in her residence.
She was born May 6, 1938, in Strabane, a daughter of the late Elton Hartman and Martha Betonte Hartman.
Mrs. Pierce loved going to the country music shows held at various locations in the area. She was very active with the New Freeport Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary in her earlier years.
She attended the Church of Christ.
Surviving are two sons, Phil Moyers and Marty Moyers, both of the New Freeport area; two sisters, Leona Hartman of Canonsburg, and Emily Hamilton of Princeton, Minn.; and four grandchildren, Catherine Jean Moyers, Richard W. H. Moyers, Kevin Ean Thompson and Adaline Hibbs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, William R. Moyers and James Pierce; and one brother, Elton “Eddy” Hartman.
Friends may call from 4 until the 6 p.m., time of a memorial service Wednesday, October 4, in Tennant Funeral Home, 2678 Hornet Highway, Hundred, W.Va., with the Rev. Steve Parkhill officiating.
