Dale Louis Tiberie
Dale Louis Tiberie, 66, of Scenery Hill (West Pike Run Township), passed away Monday, October 2, 2023, in Whitehall Borough Nursing and Rehab Center, after a courageous, year-long battle with cancer.
He was born November 7, 1956, in Washington, a son of the late Juanita Pompei Tiberie and Daniel Tiberie (the late Joan Petrisek Tiberie).
Dale was a 1974 graduate of Ellsworth High School and attended Pennsylvania State University for two years.
He retired as a coal miner with Consol Energy after 40 years, where he spent 21 of those years as a union worker with Local Union 1197, and 19 of those years as a foreman. For eight years, Dale was a dedicated member of a Mine Rescue Team, which was called upon to respond to several mine emergencies. He was also a certified Emergency Medical Technician.
After retiring from the workforce, Dale was elected to be one of West Pike Run Township’s supervisors. In this role, he was committed to representing all residents of the township. Dale was well-known throughout the local community for starting a military banner program in conjunction with American Legion Post 165 in Bentleyville.
He was an avid trout fisherman who spent much of his free time fishing the streams and rivers of West Virginia. Dale was also a passionate fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins.
Dale started a garden, which he enjoyed improving each spring and summer. He loved taking care of his property and took great pride in his yard work. He was mechanically inclined and spent much time maintaining and repairing his vehicles and tractors.
Dale and his family took several memorable trips throughout the states, but particularly to South Carolina and Florida.
On December 30, 1983, Dale married Colleen Kramer Tiberie, who survives. They celebrated nearly 40 years of marriage.
Also surviving are his son, Mario of Pittsburgh; siblings, Jack Tiberie (Donna) of Palmyra, Jacqueline Cizmek of Beallsville, and Donald Tiberie (Julie) of Bonita Springs, Fla.; his mother-in-law, Marie Kramer of Cokeburg; brother-in-law, Gary Kramer (Terri) of Greensburg; and sister-in-law, Lisa Kramer of Cokeburg, and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father-in-law, Matthew Kramer; and brother-in-law, Robert “Buck” Cizmek.
