Walter Adair Sell
Walter Adair Sell, of Lawrence, passed away Monday, October 9, 2023. Born July 25, 1934, in Johnstown, he was a son of the late Walter Sell and Mary Adair Sell.
He was preceded in death by his son, Douglas Walter Sell; and brother, John Sell.
He is survived by his wife, Lynette Anderson Sell; his son, Scott; granddaughter, Halie Sell Karmazin; grandson-in-law, Paul Karmazin; grandson, Hayden Sell; and great- grandchildren, Makenna and Jaxtyn Karmazin.
Walter graduated from Valley Forge Military Academy in 1952 then attended Gettysburg College, where he graduated with a bachelor of arts in 1957.
Beginning in 1957, he served in the United States Army Air Defense and in 1960 served in the United States Army Reserves as a 1st Lieutenant.
He worked as a general manager for Sears for many years and in multiple locations. In 1992, Walter became a certified financial planner and worked in this capacity until retiring earlier this year from his employment with Ameriprise Financial.
Walter had a quick wit and a dry sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by both his family and those who were his clients and friends.
