Dolores M. Bianchini Stankavich

Dolores M. Bianchini Stankavich, 89, a lifelong resident of Cherry Valley, passed away peacefully at home with her children at her side on Wednesday evening, October 18, 2023.

She was born on March 9, 1934 in Cherry Valley the only child of the late Ernest and Mary Tonesi Bianchini.

A 1952 graduate of the Union High School in Burgettstown, she worked at her father’s auto shop in Cherry Valley during High School. After graduating she worked as a book keeper for Fairmont Supply on Washington, Penowa Coal in Burgettstown. She then worked as a teller for Mellon (later Citizens) Bank in Bridgeville, Canonsburg and retired in 2007 from the Burgettstown Branch.

She spent her much deserved retirement cooking, baking, taking care of her home and working at the Lee & Martin Funeral Home.

On June 15, 1957 she married the true love of her life John August Stankavich. John and Dolores’ wedding was the first in the present Our Lady of Lourdes Church building. After Johns sudden death on June 29, 1979, she raised her two children while working full time with grace and dignity.

She is survived by her two beloved children Brian John and Michelle Diane Stankavich both of Cherry Valley; and many cousins and family members who affectionately called her “Doll.”

Friends and family will be received from 4 to 8 on Friday, October 20, in Slater Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc of Burgettstown, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, PA 15021 where a blessing service officiated by Fr. David Perry will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday October 21, 2023. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.
