Margaret Lenart
Margaret Lenart, 90, of Washington died peacefully on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Southmont Presbyterian Senior Care, Washington.
She was born November 27, 1932, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Charles and Julia Kovacs Lenart.
Margaret was a graduate of Chartiers High School and was a member of Cross Roads Presbyterian Church, where she enjoyed regularly volunteering in the food booth at the Washington County Fair.
She was employed as a bookkeeper at Suwak Trucking for many years, and later her welcoming disposition, and ever-present smile, made her the perfect greeter at Walmart in Washington.
Margaret brought a positive vibe to every setting. She consistently placed others first. Upon meeting someone for the first time, they didn’t remain strangers for long. Margaret treasured time spent with family and friends. She also enjoyed gardening, baking, needlework, and animals.
Surviving are several nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, grand-nieces and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death a sister, Liz; and brother-in-law, Chuck Pryor; a brother, Charles Jr. and sister-in-law, Janice Lenart; and a brother, Bob and sister-in-law, Patty Lenart.
Cremation, per her wishes, will be followed by inurnment at Forest Lawn Gardens in McMurray, at a future date.
She will be dearly missed by family and friends. The family wishes to extend many thanks to the staff members at both Southmont and Amedysis Hospice who cared for her with kindness and compassion.
