Irene Mickoloff
Irene Mickoloff, 85, of Marianna, died peacefully Thursday, October 26, 2023, in her home.
She was born in Millville, New Jersey, on April 19, 1938, daughter of the late Karp and Ekaterina Belov Zarankin.
She was a graduate of Millvile High School and then went on to graduate with her Associate’s Degree in Accounting from Goldie Beacon in Delaware.
She then worked at Prudential Insurance Company in Millville before marrying Norman Mickoloff on July 14, 1968, with whom she shared 44 years of marriage before his passing in 2012.
After raising their two children, she went to work for the Bethlehem-Center School District, in the cafeteria, where she worked until her retirement in 2003.
She was a member of St. Nicholas Old Believer’s Russian Orthodox Church where she served as treasurer for many years on the Church committee.
Irene enjoyed traveling, both in the United States as well as abroad. She loved good food, the beach, her grandchildren and playing Sudoku.
She is survived by daughter, Marenea Mickoloff of Marianna; son, Paul and wife, Jill Mickoloff of Canonsburg; three grandchildren, Ryan Mickoloff, Brendan (Jen) Mickoloff and Alayna “Aly” Mickoloff; as well as close relatives, Greg and Chris Alexander.
She was predeceased by her husband, parents and three brothers, Fred, Patrick, and William Zarankin.
Family and friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday October 31, 2023, in the St. Nicholas Old Believer’s Russian Church, Marianna, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. with burial to follow in Russian Orthodox Cemetery, Marianna.
