Diane Elaine Aggers Anderson
Diane Elaine Aggers Anderson, 71, of Ohioville, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2023, inher home.
Diane was born in Canonsburg February 1, 1952, a daughter of the late William Walter and Elizabeth Jane Grimm Aggers.
After graduating from Chartiers-Houston High School, she attended Penn State in Allegheny County and earned an Associate’s degree in Computer Science.
She spent several years working for the Alliance for Consumer Protection, dedicated to protecting the rights of elderly and low-income individuals. She later worked for many years at Price Industries, as well as running her own independent bookkeeping service for several local small businesses.
She was also heavily involved at her church, Ohioville Free Methodist. As well as serving as board secretary, she taught Sunday school, vacation Bible school, and Christian Life Club.
For years she was involved in crafting, especially quilting. She created many wonderful quilts for family and friends. She was an accomplished seamstress. Besides sewing clothes for her children in their youth, she constructed several period dresses that she wore as part of reenactments at local historical sites.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, James, whom she married September 15, 1972; as well as her parents; and her brother, William.
She is survived by her children, Rebecca LaVan, Kimberly Buffington, and Michael Anderson; grandchildren, Hailey, Amber, Zachary, Braydon, and Alec; great-grandchildren, Aiden and Greyson; brothers, Joseph, Keith, and Kenneth; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Her life was a life of service: quiet, but always there for all who needed her. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know her.
Visitation was Wednesday, September 6, in the Dawson Funeral Home, 215 W. 5th Street, East Liverpool, OH 43920, where the family was present from 4 to 7 p.m. The Rev. Norman Eckert of the church will conduct a funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 7, in the funeral home. Burial will be at Washington Cemetery.
Following the service Thursday, friends and family will gather at the Beechwood Fellowship Hall, 1203 Pennsylvania Avenue, East Liverpool, OH 43920.
