Georgianna J. Griffith, 84, of Cross Creek, passed away peacefully early Monday, September 11, 2023, with her daughters by her side.

She was born February 22, 1939, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late George and Sophie Whitkus Huwe.

Georgianna had lived in Cross Creek since 1959, where she was an avid farmer and also a school bus driver for Avella and Fort Cherry school districts for over 30 years.

She was a member of Soil Conservation, the USDA, Washington County Cattlemen’s Association, and Southwestern PA Quarter Horse Barrel Racing Association, where she was a past president. She was also the swine superintendent for the Washington County Fair for over 20 years.

On November 25, 1959, she married Gerald “Jerry” Griffith, who passed away April 5, 2007.

Surviving are her two daughters, Jocelyn (Rob) Gagliani of Cross Creek, and Carol (Don) O’Brien of Perrysburg, Ohio; five grandchildren, Robert Gagliani Jr. and wife Dr. Ellie Gagliani, Anthony Gagliani, Kylie O’Brien, Ashlyn O’Brien and Shayne O’Brien; two sisters, Veronica (Clark) David and Linda Baiz; and a brother, Gary (Pam) Huwe.

Deceased, in addition to her husband of 47 years and her parents, are two sisters, Anita Whitson and Norma Lucas.

Friends and family will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, September 15, in the Jerome A. Stefkovich Funeral Home Inc., 18 Campbell Street, Avella, PA 15312.

All funeral services and burial are private.
