Oretta J. Lemley, 69, of Mount Morris, passed away at 2:55 p.m. on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, in Morgantown Healthcare Center, with her loving family by her side, after a 17 year battle with cancer.

She was born on December 20, 1953, in Waynesburg, a daughter of the late John Koast and Loretta Shehl Koast. Oretta was a graduate of Waynesburg High School, class of 1971.

She was a member of the Mt. Morris United Methodist Church. Oretta was the pianist for 20 years and the church treasurer for 15 years as well. She worked for 20 years as a bank teller and clerk at the Mt. Morris Bank, and also worked for 20 years as an accountant at WVU, retiring in 2019. She loved her family, and really enjoyed playing with her grandkids and showing them all about the piano.

Oretta married the love of her life, John Lemley, on March 17, 1972. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are her son, Cliff (Autumn) Lemley; and her two grandchildren, Amelia and Parker Lemley; two brothers, Bill (Karol) Koast of Mt. Morris and Joe (Judy) Koast of Fairview, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, September 15, 2023, in the Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Inc., 324 Mt. Morris Road, P.O. Box 478, Mt. Morris, PA 15349, Shane M. Ayers, Director, where her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2023 with Pastor Gale Cobb officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Mt. Morris, PA 15349.
