Frank Dankovich

Frank Dankovich, 72, of Greensboro, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2023, in his home.

He was born February 28, 1951, in Waynesburg, a son of the late Frank and Mary Karlock Dankovich. Frank was raised in Brownsville, was a 1969 graduate of Brownsville Area High School and received a bachelor of science degree, in education, from the California University of Pennsylvania, specializing in speech pathology and audiology.

He worked as a speech therapist for the Luzerne Intermediate Unit in Kingston, for two years before working as a laborer and machine operator at the Bethlehem Mines Corporation in Ellsworth, and the Duquesne Light Company in Greensboro. In 1976, he began to work for Bethenergy Mines, Inc., in Marianna, as a laborer, machine operator and section foreman before transferring to the Bethenergy Mine in Eighty Four. Frank retired in 2009 from the Emerald Mine in Waynesburg, as a longwall operator.

He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America and former member of the Carmichaels Moose Lodge and the Bobtown Polish Club. Frank enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and driving his 1972 Monte Carlo.

On December 18, 1992, he married Paulette Kukuchka, who survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Dr. Megan Dankovich (Dominic Argentieri) of Rockville, Md.; two grandchildren, Sibyl Argentieri and Sonya Argentieri; a sister, Carol Olson of Uniontown; a special aunt, Irene Muccino of Bridgeville; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are a son, Geoffrey Dankovich; a sister, Susan Cocrane and a stepson, Craig Skvarch.

The family expresses their thanks and gratitude for the compassionate care provided by the nursing staff of Amedisys Home Health Care and the WVU Uniontown Cancer Center.

Family and friends are welcome from 3 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, 724-966-5500, Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director, 300 South Vine Street, Carmichaels. Interment will be private.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to either Tunnel to Towers Foundation or to Wounded Warrior Project.
