Violet Iona Uphold
Violet Iona Uphold, 91, of Washington, died Tuesday, September 19, 2023, in Country Meadows.
She was born December 15, 1931, in Carmichaels, a daughter of the late Homer and Alice Clark Reed.
Mrs. Uphold had worked at Gee Bees for 18 years. A job at Country Meadows followed until her retirement.
Earlier in life she enjoyed all types of dancing, and especially the polka. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, playing games and watching movies.
On April 28, 2001, she married Darrell B. Uphold, who died July 16, 2010.
Surviving are a daughter, Candace (Craig) Uphold; a stepdaughter, Tina (Glenn) Garbart; a sister, Elaine (Bruce) Hines; two grandchildren, Ava Grace Dunhoff and Jack Curtis Dunhoff; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a brother, Milo C. Reed.
Friends and family are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, September 25, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 26.
Burial will follow in Glades Cemetery in Carmichaels.
