Rocco B. Quaranto

Rocco B. Quaranto, 83, of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 23, 2023, in the Donnell House, Washington. He was born June 28, 1940, in Star Junction, a son of the late Joseph and Stella Ludwick Quaranto.

Rocco was Roman Catholic and lived most of his life in the Perryopolis area.

He was a proud veteran of the United States Army having served in France and Germany, with two tours in Vietnam. He retired after 20 years of service as a chief warrant officer.

After his military career ended, Rocco was employed in the VW Plant in New Stanton, then was employed by the U.S. Army Reserves as a trainer. He then owned a franchise with Cornwell Tools and prior to his retirement, enjoyed being a security officer at the Meadows Casino in the Meadowlands.

He was a faithful member of the Perryopolis and Washington Lions clubs for over 42 years, where he had served as president.

On July 28, 2003, he married Barbara Vargo, who survives.

Also left behind to cherish his memory are his children, Rocco B. Quaranto Jr. and wife Cynthia of Wilmington, N.C., Theresa McCulloch and husband Patrick of Perryopolis, David J. Quaranto and wife Chrissy of Grindstone; his sister, Betty Jean Nutter of California; grandchildren, Patrick and Stephen McCulloch, Rocco III, Brittney (Grier) and Logan Quaranto, Justin and Heath Quaranto; five great-grandchildren; an “adopted” daughter, Alicia Booker-Carney; and three “adopted” grandchildren, Jackson, Caroline and Mary Kate Pistner.

Deceased, in addition to his parents, is his sister, Mary Lou Acquaviva.

Private Catholic Blessing Services and interment, with full Military Honors by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 of Canonsburg and the United States Army, will take place in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
