Philip T. Parry, 76, of Fredericktown, passed away Monday, September 25, 2023, in Transitions Healthcare Washington.

He was born June 23, 1947, in Geneva, N.Y., a son of the late Walter and Mary Madden Parry.

Philip was a 1965 graduate of Watertown High School, New York.

Mr. Parry was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the United States Navy from 1966-1970 as well as the U.S. Air Force. He achieved the rank of Senior Master Seargent, following a proud career that spanned more than 20 years. Among his many achievements, for his service he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal /1 device, Air Force Overseas Short Tour Ribbon with 1 device, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 devices, Air Force Outstanding Unit award with 1 device, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with 1 device, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Navy Unit Citation, and Presidential Unit Citation.

Following his military career, he was employed as a boat mechanic at Engles Holiday Harbor and was also employed as the outdoor equipment manager at Lowe’s in Belle Vernon, from where he retired.

Philip was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish, Knights of Columbus Council 5826, and a lifetime member of the VFW Post #1400 Watertown, N.Y.

His leisure time was spent outdoors, hunting and gardening. He also enjoyed building and fixing things, collecting knives, and especially enjoyed his grandchildren.

On November 10, 1984, he married Patricia McFeely Parry, who survives.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are five children: Patricia Matusky (William) of Richeyville, Shawn Pattison (Laura) of Canal Fulton, Ohio, John Parry (Melissa) of Detroit, Mich., Tina Campbell (John) of North Versailles and Toni Krien (John) of Glendale, Ariz.; grandchildren, Luke and Wyatt Webeck of Richeyville; a sister, Barb Miller of Bruster, Ohio; several other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Deceased is a brother-in-law, John “Jack” Miller.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, October 2, 2023, at which time a Blessing Service will be held in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, with Father Mike Zavage officiating. Interment will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at a later date.
