Time for commonsense thinking
There should be some commonsense thinking on government spending, such as:
1. If you don’t have the money, then don’t spend what you don’t have.
2. Don’t build anything new when you don’t have the money to maintain what already exists.
3. Don’t fall for every public relations effort or idea to get more money from already oppressed taxpayers.
4. Actively look for ways to cut, reduce or eliminate the burden of taxpayers.
5. If you don’t work or work in federal, state or local government, please show some respect to those who do work in the private sector and are having more and more of their income taken to maintain every level of government.
6. Those who are elected should represent the people and what is important to their long-term interests and preservation, not special interests.
