Much ado about nothing

1 min read

So many criticisms and harsh words were thrown at the Canonsburg Fourth of July Committee in the days leading up to the celebration. And for what?

One woman stated, “First they take away our chairs, and now they’re cutting back the parade.” Another was ranting about how the committee members should step aside and let someone else do it if they didn’t care about Canonsburg’s tradition. As a former member of that committee, let me tell you – there is no one who cares more!

I arrived on Pike Street and plopped my chair down at 8:45 a.m. Thursday, and I watched the best Fourth of July Parade in Pennsylvania along with thousands of other people, who had a wonderful time celebrating as they do every year.

Great job Canonsburg, as always.
