A choice for Cecil PNC customers
I am writing in response to your recent article on the PNC Branch closing in Cecil. I have been a customer of PNC since its takeover of National City. I bank in Cecil because of its close proximity to my home, and I do all of my banking in person.
When I received my letter about PNC’s choice to leave Cecil, I began shopping around at other financial institutions to see what they had to offer. Needless to say, the word was out, and, in speaking to various representatives, I came to learn some other financial institutions are interested in moving into the Cecil PNC Branch location. As the article stated, Cecil has always had a bank, and they will, no doubt, have another one when PNC goes.
When another financial institution enters the area, people will have to make a choice to travel to PNC, or change to the new bank. This is time consuming, of course, but if you are looking for convenience, that would be the choice. The bottom line is this: The growing customer base of the Cecil PNC Branch should be enough to keep the branch open. Apparently, PNC executives don’t feel the same. If PNC is inconveniencing you – why would you want to stay with them? I, for one, am looking forward to seeing which financial institution might be coming into Cecil, one that cares about the convenience of Cecil area residents, and who would also welcome their business.
